Dr. Jörg Reinhardt
Dr. Jörg Reinhardt, born on March 11, 1956 in Homburg in the German state of Saarland, studied pharmaceutical sciences at Saarland University in Saarbrücken. After obtaining his doctorate in 1981, he started his career with Sandoz, which became part of Novartis in 1996, holding various managerial positions of increasing responsibility, including Global Head of Pharma Development and CEO of the Vaccines & Diagnostics Division. In 2008 he became Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Novartis group.
From 2000 until 2010, Reinhardt served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Foundation in La Jolla, California. From 2001 through 2004 he was a member of the Supervisory Board of MorphoSys AG, Germany.
Furthermore he is a member of the Council of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA).
Jörg Reinhardt is married and has two grown-up children.
