Nigel Sheail
Nigel was born on June 2, 1965 in London. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in molecular biology from the University of Edinburgh. From 1987 to 1990 he worked at Ernst & Young in London where he qualified as a chartered accountant.
He began his professional career in the pharmaceutical industry at GlaxoSmithKline in 1990 before transferring to F.Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. in 1993 where he held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility in both the finance and research organisations. From 1995 to 1999, he was Deputy General Manager and Finance Director at Roche China Holding Ltd., in which capacity he was involved in the establishment of Roche's China business. In 2001, he was appointed Global Licensing Director Pharma and two years later Head of Acquisitions & Strategy Alliances Pharma. Prior to joining Bayer HealthCare he was Head of Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions and Head of Global Pharm Licensing at F.Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. headquartered in Basel, Switzerland.
A British national he was a founding member of the Swiss Pharma Licensing Group (Swiss PLG), an informal platform for licensing executives in the health care industry designed to promote the exchange of information and experiences.
